Welcome to Anxiety Care!

Anxiety Care is a registered charity based in East London that specialises in helping people to recover from anxiety disorder and to maintain that recovery. With the support of our trained volunteers, clients are enabled to plan, initiate and carry through personal recovery programmes using cognitive behavioural techniques and gradual exposure exercises. Our services include mutual support groups, support and structured recovery groups, confidence building groups, a home visiting service, telephone helpline, and a one to one counselling service offering a variety of disciplines. Many of these services can be accessed by internet, email and telephone as well as face to face in the local area.

APPEAL
Dear Service Users and Interested Parties,
Anxiety Care recently experienced severe financial difficulties. We have been in existence for over 12 years and, in common with most small charities, had humble beginnings. Due to the growing demand for our services, the organisation has expanded in response to this need. Anxiety Care receives many referrals from the statutory services including, General Practitioners, Community Mental Health Teams, Advice and Brief Intervention Teams, Occupational Therapy Departments and others. We have always managed to provide this service with no funding from government other than some financial and 'in kind' support from our local council, London Borough of Redbridge.
Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham Primary Care Trusts have responded to our plea with some funding, for which we are very grateful, and have also kindly invited us to apply for future funding. We have also received very generous donations from Companies and private individuals and would like to take this opportunity to publically thank them. This has enabled us to continue providing our much needed service and we are now looking to the future. As previously stated, we have managed to sustain and develop our services for over twelve years without significant funding. However, this is no longer possible and our financial situation continues to be of concern to us. Please browse our website for full details of the services we provide. Anxiety Care is a unique service and we hope you agree that it is one worth saving.
How can I help? We would appreciate any donation, however small, and emails or letters of support would also be very welcome. If you would like to make a donation please send cheques or postal orders made payable to Anxiety Care, our postal address is available on this site, or donate on-line via the Charities Aid Foundation. Please remember that UK tax payers can Gift Aid their donations, meaning that we can claim back 28p for every £1 donated. Download our Gift Aid form here.
Finally, we would like to thank our volunteers and service users for the tremendous support they have provided during our struggle over the past few months, we look forward to working with you in the future.
Thank you for your kind attention.
